Effective June 11, 2026 · ABJ VENTURES INC DBA PLAYA EBIKES (“Playa eBikes”). This page is the canonical cancellation, deposit, and return policy for all Playa eBikes reservations. The agreements you sign before pickup govern in full; this page summarizes them in plain language.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
All cancellations are subject to a $50 non-refundable booking fee per eBike. Cancellations made on or before July 31, 2026, will receive a full refund minus the $50 fee. Cancellations made between August 1 and August 15, 2026, will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made on or after August 16, 2026. The deposit hold is never charged upon cancellation.
- Cancellations apply per eBike — in a multi-bike order, each bike can be cancelled on its own and is refunded per the schedule above based on its cancellation date.
- For the August 1–15 tier, the refund equals 50% of the rental or purchase price after the $50 booking fee is deducted.
- Refunds are credited to the original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days.
Security Deposit (Rentals)
- Amount: each bike’s deposit equals the difference between its purchase price and its rental price — shown on every bike’s page before you book (Eco: $200.00 · Elite: $374.00 · Extreme: $449.00).
- A hold, not an upfront charge: nothing is charged when you book. Shortly before your pickup window, the deposit is pre-authorized as a hold on the rider’s card.
- Released on a good return: the hold is released in full after the bike is returned by the deadline, working, complete, and clean.
- If the bike doesn’t come back in that condition: returned dirty (otherwise fine) → a flat $100 cleaning fee is deducted and the rest is released. Missing a kit accessory (basket, cup holder, repair kit, etc.) → its replacement cost is deducted and the rest is released. Returned inoperable, missing an inherent part (battery, charger, keys, lock, or an eBike part), returned after the deadline, or not returned at all → the full deposit is charged and the rental converts to a purchase of the bike. Playa eBikes never pursues any amount beyond the deposit.
Returns (Rentals)
- Deadline: end of day September 8, 2026. Bikes not back by then are treated as purchased (full deposit charge, as above).
- Location: the same Nixon, NV pickup spot — re-stow the bike exactly as found (covered, locked), and submit your return photos and video in your reservation portal.
Mechanical Issues During the Event
If your eBike develops a mechanical problem that isn’t wear, abuse, or crash damage, contact us during the event at (775) 447-1775 or info@playaebikes.com — spare parts are staged first, and remedies are handled per your signed agreement.
Weather & Conditions
- IP53 rating: the eBikes resist limited dust and light water spray. They are not waterproof — do not expose them to flooding, heavy rain, or submersion.
- Damage from submersion or misuse in extreme conditions counts as damage under the deposit terms above.
The Fine Print
Every rider signs a rental or purchase agreement, liability waiver, card authorization, and identity consent before pickup — those signed documents are the binding terms. This policy and all reservations are governed by Nevada law, venue Washoe County, Nevada. See also our Terms of Service.
