Playa eBikes® Deposit Amounts

Your rental deposit is always the difference between a bike’s full purchase price and its rental price — the amount that would remain if you decided to keep it. Because it is calculated from the live prices, it updates automatically whenever our pricing changes.

It is a pre-authorization, not a charge. The deposit is a refundable hold we place manually on the payment method on file. It is never part of your checkout total — you will see the exact amount at checkout, but nothing is actually charged unless the bike is not returned or comes back damaged.

How the Deposit Works

For example, the Playa Elite rents for $825.00 against a full purchase price of $1,199.00, so its deposit is $374.00. If you later decide to keep the bike, that deposit simply applies toward owning it — you have already paid the rest.

Across our current fleet, deposits range from $200.00 – $449.00, depending on the model. The exact amount for your bike is shown on its product page and again at checkout.

Deposit Forfeiture in Other Scenarios

Your deposit may be partially or fully captured (charged) if:

The eBike is returned with missing accessories (keys, charger, or battery)
The bike is returned damaged or not operational
Excessive cleaning is required
The eBike is not returned at all
