Join Us in Supporting the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe

Be the Change | Stand with the Paiute Tribe | Make a Difference

As we eagerly anticipate our collective return to the Playa, we, at Playa eBikes, are humbled to be supporting the 12th Annual Paiute Food Drive and Fundraiser, brought to you by Comfort & Joy, a longstanding queer camp at Burning Man. Comfort & Joy is dedicated to supporting the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and increasing awareness within the Burning Man community about the Tribe, its people, and their presence on the land for thousands of years. The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, residing in the Pyramid Lake in Northern Nevada, has a rich cultural heritage and a deep respect for their lands and water. Comfort & Joy has a strong connection with the tribe, as they share values of inclusion and acceptance. The food drive, led by Maureen Williams and Gwendolyn “Bunny” Pancho, has been successful in delivering necessary supplies to Paiute families and elders in need. This year beneficiary of the Fundraiser is The Victim Services Program of the Tribe. The program provides essential services to victims of crime, and the fundraiser aims to support and expand this program’s reach within the Paiute community. Contributions can be made through financial donations, participating in the food drive, spreading awareness, or volunteering. By joining together, the community can make a tangible difference and support the Paiute Tribe.
  1. Donate Funds: Click here, then click “Get Tickets” to contribute financially via Eventbrite. Your donation is tax-deductible, and will directly support The Victim Services Program of the Paiute community and its services.
  2. Take Part in the Food Drive: After Burning Man, drop off your non-perishable food items at Bunny’s Tacos in Nixon – look for Comfort & Joy’s iconic flags so you don’t miss the turn. Buy a Taco or two and give Bunny and Maureen hugs for all they do for their community.
  3. Spread the Word: Share our cause within your network, through social media, email, or word of mouth.
  4. Volunteer: Join us in spreading awareness about the food drive and fundraiser within the Burning Man community. Click the ‘Volunteer’ button at bottom to express your interest. About the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, also known as Kooyooe Tukadu, is a proud and resilient community now residing in the Pyramid Lake and whose historical territory includes The Playa and most of Northern Nevada and Western Oregon. The Tribal territory is a vast and culturally significant expanse spanning over 475,000 acres in Northern Nevada. The Pyramid Lake, a desert lake known for its unique pyramid-shaped island formation, is a spiritually significant location for thousands of years.

Historically, the tribe has demonstrated deep respect for their lands and water, which have sustained them for generations. They have overcome numerous adversities, maintained their cultural heritage, and continue to strive towards a brighter future.

Thank you for considering this request. As you continue with your Burn preparations, we hope they’re filled with anticipation and joy. We’re excited to meet again on the Playa soon.

Our RENTAL program

Yes, we rent our eBikes! Please take a moment to read through this entire page carefully.

Our eBikes are brand new. They are waiting for you in their original packaging. (You can request assembly for a very low $25 fee which covers the cost to dispose of the packing materials in a responsible manner). Many Burners cannot bring their eBikes back to their default life. If you wish to rent the eBike, here are the steps and terms/conditions we request you follow:

  1. Pay the eBike Deposit: Choose “Rent” when selecting your product on the product page. The amount at checkout will be the same.
  2. Schedule your Pickup: after submitting the order, you will receive an email with your receipt and a dedicated link to schedule to eBike pickup time
  3. Schedule your return: you will receive an additional email with a dedicated link to schedule your return.
  4. Get $150 Refund (for the “Eco” and $200 for the “Premium”): We will refund $150 (for the “Eco”) or $200 (for the “Premium) for any eBike that is in proper working order. The playa is hard on everything, we know. But we cannot accept returns that are broken or missing parts. We request you return it with a charge in the battery so we can test it. Also, please remove all lighting and decorations. We reserve the right not to provide a refund based on our inspection of the eBike. By selecting the “Rental Program,” you agree to allow our on-site team member to be the final decision maker in the assessment.

We will keep our ears open to news of how Exodus is going. We understand it can be unpredictable. But if you miss your scheduled day and time, we cannot guarantee we will be there to accept your return. You must keep in touch with us.

All Rentals are non-refundable unless expressed otherwise by Playa eBikes in writing. If you fail to bring your eBike back we will keep the deposit paid.
